Chris L. Yamada appointed Chairman and CEO for Space Vector Corporation

(Chatsworth, CA April 1, 2019) Space Vector Corporation (SVC) has announced that the SVC Board of Director has appointed Chris L. Yamada as its Chief Executive Officer, and Mr. Yamada assumed leadership of the company effective April 1, 2019.

(Updated April 19, 2019) Space Vector Corporation (SVC) Board of Directors has appointed Chirrs L. Yamada as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Chris joins Space Vector after a long career at Northrop Grumman Corporation and TRW, and held full P&L responsibilities for the past 22 years. Most recently, Chris was the Vice-President and General Manager of the Aerospace Products business unit in the Space Systems Division, where he had responsibility for several wholly-owned strategic business units and program responsibility for product line programs at Space Park in Redondo Beach, CA. Previously, he was the president of TRW Astro Aerospace and joined Northrop Grumman via the TRW acquisition in December 2002. Prior to rejoining TRW in 2001, he was the vice president and general manager for Pressure Systems Inc., a leading provider of propellant and pressurant tanks for satellites and launch vehicles. In his general management roles, Mr. Yamada successfully delivered thousands of systems and subsystems to commercial and government customers, serving diverse mission and critical business needs. At TRW, he was the deputy program manager and spacecraft manager for KOMPSAT, a two-satellite, Electro-Optical/Infrared program for the Republic of Korea. He has prior experiences in program management, systems engineering and mechanical systems design, in all phases of satellite development, from conceptual design and capture through launch and initial operations.

Mr. Yamada has a master's degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Southern California (USC) and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from California State University, Long Beach. He also completed the Executive Program at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Anderson School, and other continuing education at USC and UCLA.
